Its always a pleasure to work with and for Sarah Whelband, PR and copywriting extraordinaire, so naturally we were very pleased to be asked to work on the logo for her own personal brand.
Inspiration for the logo came firmly from a 'writing' perspective - Sarah's core talent - and the traditional, high quality values behind her work. The main font was chosen to suggest a typewriter typeface (but not the hideous and over used Courier!) with an icon based on the keys of an old fashioned typewriter. We felt the logo also needed a different but complementary face, to really communicate the variety of work and market sectors Sarah takes on. We also wanted this to show the personal side of Sarah's approach to commissions and to bring some degree of flair to the brand and with that in mind a hand written font for Sarah's first name seemed entirely appropriate.
With any logo its vital to roadtest it throughout the various applications in which it will be used and its great to see Sarah's logo working so well on her website and business cards.
